In partnership with Biosystems, Inc., MSA has developed Pro-Check software, a package that measures your MSA air mask against the highest standards in the industry. Can be used with Biosystems’ PosiCheck3 computerized SCBA performance. Allows MSA-certified technicians to make all needed adjustments to any MSA air mask or supplied-air respirator using either low- or high-pressure cylinders. OSHA regulations require that, at a minimum, SCBA must be inspected at least once a month. Pro-Check software meets and exceeds the requirements of OSHA for inspection and record-keeping. The easy-to-use custom software walks you through a quick, step-by-step inspection process of your SCBA, so you can concentrate on fighting fires. The inspection includes visual inspection, mask leak check, exhalation check valve opening pressure, static mask pressure, breathing resistance at standard (40 LPM) work-rate, breathing resistance at maximum (100 LPM) work-rate, bypass flow-rate, pressure gauge accuracy,
low-pressure alarm activation and a record of your inspection dates and findings, saved on your computer’s hard drive.
When conducting the required visual inspection, Pro-Check software guides you through a detailed checklist of the facepiece, carrier and harness assembly, cylinder, low-pressure warning device and hoses and/or breathing tubes. The software then proceeds to online pressure tests and breathing checks using the PosiCheck test bench. Unlike conventional SCBA testing software, Pro-Check software tests the SCBA regulator performance against a range of possible uses. The screen indicates low-, medium- and high-pressure transducer readings, and allows the user to breathe the apparatus at a specified rate of slow, standard work rate or maximum work rate. Other features of this unique system include the ability to customize exhalation valve tests, a complete bypass system test and more stringent criteria for testing low-pressure warning alarm function. The system even checks pressure-gauge accuracy.
Pro-Check operating software is fully compatible with Microsoft Windows 95 or Windows 3.1 operating system software. A true plug-and-play system, setup is as easy as plugging it in and installing the software on your hard drive.
